![]() | Smudge is a five year old lab/bull dog mix. We recently moved from several acres where she was free to roam to a small fenced in back yard. We also have a small child so we don't have the time to give her the attention she needs. She is sweet, affectionate, gets along with men, women and children, very trainable and is protective of familiar people.
Smudge does not get along well with other dogs (barks at them). Smudge does well in the house, but has always been an outside dog. Smudge is up to date on all of her vaccinations, spayed and is currently on heartworm and flea medication. She is house and crate trained and knows basic commands (sit, stay, lay down, catch).

![]() | Raisins is a 10 month old male black lab mix (born January 2008). He is up to date on all vaccinations and is on flea and heartworm preventive medications. He was not heartworm tested before starting medication at age 6 months and has not yet been neutered. This photo was take in July when he was a little smaller; he is currently about 60 lbs, not too tall but very solid and strong.
Raisins is very friendly, loving and playful. He liks a lot of attention and will jump on you and lick you to get it. He has been kept mostly outdoors and would need house/crate training, leash training, etc. He knows how to sit but needs training for other commands. He is still chewing and loves tug of war, but doesn't fetch. He loves having his belly rubbed and gets along playfully with other dogs and cats too. Because of his strength and jumping, I wouldn't place him with small children. If you can give him a good home and lots of love and attention, please contact me.

Fuzzy is a 4-year old spayed female pit bull mix. We're not sure what she's mixed with, but it's something small, as she only weighs 40 pounds.
She is up to date on all her vaccinations and heartworm and flea/tick medication. She is heartworm negative. Fuzzy is good with other dogs, but should not go to a home with cats. Fuzzy loves people, including children of all ages. Fuzzy is house trained, but not crate trained. She has a crate, but will only stay in it at night. Fuzzy MUST be an indoor dog. She can not stay outside by herself, as she will try to escape to wherever people are. Fuzzy knows the following obedience commands: sit, down, stay, come, and OK! (release word). She also knows the following tricks: crawl, play dead, high five, dance, shake, and taste (kind of a nose-bump to your fist). She loves playing with her tennis ball, chewing on her bone, rolling in grass, and chasing sticks. She makes a great running and hiking partner, and also is starting to enjoy swimming. Fuzzy is VERY friendly, and loves being around people. When she meets new people or greets an old friend, she doesn't just wag her tail ... she wags her entire backside. She also loves giving kisses and snuggling with you on the floor (she knows not to get on the couch!) to watch TV or take a nap. She walks well on a leash, but will pull a bit if she sees a cat or dog (the cat she wants to chase, the dog she just wants to sniff). The only time we ever hear her bark is when the mail gets delivered. Fuzzy really loves human companionship, and would do best in a home where there were people around as much as possible. She would not do well in a home where she was left alone 8 hours a day every day. We are asking a small adoption fee ($75) to ensure that Fuzzy goes to a good home. She comes with her own crate, bed, toys, treats, and whatever we have left of her food. Fuzzy really is a sweet, friendly, goofy, good dog; our jobs just make us not the right people for her.

Looking for an excellent home for my 1 year and 5 month old Yorkie Maltese mix named Winnie. She has been spayed and is completely up to date on all shots. Currently she takes Heartgard and Frontline as preventative measures againt heartworms and flea/ticks. Before receiving that treatment she was tested negative for heartworms.
Winnie is EXCELLENT with other dogs. She has played and lived with both a large Lab and many small dogs like chows and scottish terriers. If cats are in the household, she will be defensive, but never attack. I would prefer households with cats not apply. Winne has been around kids including babies 4 months old and reacts really well. The initial meeting of infants or kids should be controlled and monitored as Winnie can get excited, but after the initial meeting she really likes them and will not be too forward with them. Overall, Winnie is good in interactions with all people. Winnie has been house and leash trained. She is used to being indoors and brought outdoors for exercise and "potty times." She knows a few tricks with verbal commands and "come," but she is still a little stubborn with that command. Winnie is very protective and can bark at new people, but will eventually settle down when the "new person" greets her. She can be hyper, especially after being home alone for a long period of time. Most of the day she is sleeping on one of her many beds. Challenges with Winnie would include her occasional barks and not always listening to "come" (though she has never ran away, just waited outside for someone to follow her). Winnie has also grown to be very close to me and will sometimes whine to get her owner or another close individual back. Though it should be noted this only occurs when she knows you are still around in close quarters, she does not cause problems when I leave for school or work. There is an adoption fee of $100, and will include all of her toys, bed, remaining food and Heartgard, and other belongings. I will also be sure to pass on all of her papers, including her microchip registration.

Scottie is a five year old Schnauzer/mix who was rescued from a miserable life-he lived outdoors on a short chain year round, NEVER allowed inside no matter how bad the weather. He was fed the cheapest, poor quality dry dog food and given water-that's it! No love, no attention, no affection. When surrendered his coat was so long and matted it took four hours to shave him to the skin and bathe him.
Now he's neutered, vaccinated, treated for heartworms, and crate trained. He likes other dogs, is fine with cats, cute and fluffy! He's getting more and more affectionate with his rescue 'Mom' and the wonderful people at St. Francis Animal Hospital where he's living while looking for a loving, forever home! All he needs is basic obedience training. 'Scottie' comes with his own bed, food, and two fluffy toys that he loves! To meet 'Scottie' please contact Pleasant Drive Animal Rescue either by e-mail at: paullnoelle@hotmail.com or by phone at 919-598-3114 |

Wilson is Purebred Black Labrador. He is 3 years of age, neutered, up-to-date on shots and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative.
He is good with some dogs, but not others. He is an alpha male that is protective of his home. He has not been around cats, but would probably not do well with them. He is good with kids, but protective of his territory and family so introductions need to be controlled. He is house-trained, leash, trained and has been to obedience classes - he knows sit, down, stay and release. He is used to being indoors and like most dogs loves to go outside as well. He loves to play hide and seek, tag, and play dead for a treat. He is wonderful with our family, loves our children, very people oriented, loves to get outside to walk/run in the woods, more energy in the am and late afternoon anticipating two walks, wary of strangers when they come into his territory. Wilson is protective and showing aggression when people come into his territory. He is great with dogs he knows but can be aggressive with new dogs until he gets to know them. Wilson is about 130 pounds and not overweight!

![]() ![]() | Our boxer named Mason is 5 years old and he has been neutered. He is up to date with all his vaccinations. He is current with his heart worm and flea medication. He has not been heartworm tested, but it can be done.
I don’t know how he will act with other pets, but he is good with children and adults. Mason is house trained and is mainly an indoor dog. He loves to go on walks, but it will seem like he is walking you. He does know how to sit and lay down, he will howl if you sing, and if you say “peepee” he will go outside and go. Mason loves a lot of attention, he will lick you to death, loves people, but can be protective when need be. Mason mainly just lounges around the house, but loves to play whenever you are ready. Mason is a great dog, but there is one challenge an adopter will have to face… he is allergic to everything (seriously). We have taken him to NCState for testing and he is allergic to grass (all types) and certain types of trees etc… we have the list at home. He is also allergic to certain foods, so he eats a prescription type food. We give him benadryl twice a day with food, but that can only do so much. Mason breaks out every now and then and we end up having to give him steroids and antibiotics to get rid of the reaction. Ever since he was born this has been going on. The vet recommended he take an allergy prescription pill monthly to tame the break outs, but it can become costly. Mason is a great dog, very obedient and deserving of a loving home. I want him to go to a home that will dedicate their time to him because he is deserving of it.

![]() | Sweetie is a pure white American Bull Dog about 10 years old. She is spayed, up to date on shots, and she sees a vet regularly.
She's on Sentinel heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Sweetie is good with dogs, cats, and all people including kids. She is crate trained, leash trained, and she's used to being inside but seems to like being outside, too. Sweetie is very friendly and a little bit shy. She doesn't mess up the house when left alone. She does seem to be deaf now but it doesn't slow her down. Sweetie doesn't have really any bad traits and she has a great spirit.

Margie is a 15 month-old lab/shepherd mix. She’s light tan with white markings and full-grown at 67 lbs. She's up-to-date on all shots, micro-chipped and in great health. She graduated from two sessions of obedience school, knows lots of basic commands and earned her AKC good citizenship certificate.
She is quiet, gentle, and very loving. Margie is very loyal and protective of her family and will bark to announce strangers but greets friends warmly. She loves kids and needs very much to be a family pet. She is fully house-trained and crate trained and loves being with the family. She needs to be a mostly indoor/outdoor dog and needs a home with no small dogs or cats. We have two cats and are unable to keep Margie for this reason alone!
