A New Leash on Life can provide the following assistance in rehoming your dog:

The "Other Dogs" page is an area of our website where pictures of dogs or pups looking for new homes are posted with descriptions and contact information. Adopting the dog out is solely the responsibility of the owner or caretaker of the dog or pup ; we post the information as a courtesy to owners and folks who have rescued a stray to help them find new homes. People interested in meeting and/or adopting the dog or pup will directly contact the person listed in the posting. We would need a jpeg digital photo of the dog or pup. The photo should be less than 1 MB and sent as an attachment to an email supplying as much of the following information as possible in paragraph format to: webmaster@anewleashonlifedogrescue.org:

  • Name
  • Breed
  • Age
  • Spayed/Neutered?
  • Up to date on vaccinations, including rabies?

Also, you can go to www.petfinder.com and scroll down - on the left you will see a box titled "Find Animal Welfare Groups". Enter "NC" for the location and click on "List By State". Scroll down, and a list will be displayed showing all shelters and rescue groups in the state that are registered with PetFinder. The list is alphabetized by city and will display phone numbers if applicable. You can access a group's website by clicking on the name of the group.
