![]() | Pedro is a 2 year old
male Black Lab mix. He has been neutered, is up to date with all vaccinations and heartworm testing and
is on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. He is great with cats, dogs, and all people!
Pedro is crate trained, housetrained and walks well on a leash. He knows"sit", "raise your paw", and is
getting better with "wait". Pedro is very, very friendly and loving. He likes laying and sitting with you
on the couch. He loves to lick people's faces. Pedro really only barks at thunder and people sounds from
outside. His anal glands do tend to fill from time to time.

![]() | Marvin is a 1 1/2 year old male
Shepherd mix. He has been neutered, is up to date with all vaccinations, has been heartworm tested and is
on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Marvin loves other dogs and is good with cats and all people.
He is housetrained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. He knows how to "sit" very well and is
getting better with "wait". Marvin will make funny noises that sounds like he is trying to talk to you!
He is very friendly, loving and active. He likes laying and sitting with you on the couch. Marvin is
still young and could really use time outside to run and play. He has the occasional accident in the house
and likes to chew on tissues and paper towels. Would recommend using a crate if kept in the house
unsupervised for long periods of time. Marvin doesn't mind his crate at all and is a great pet. He's
about 45 pounds and is full grown. He would be terrific as a second dog.

Angel is a 9 1/2 year old female Husky-Shepherd Mix who weighs about 50 pounds. She is energetic; loves
taking walks and being outside; less active recently due to caregivers’ limitations. She's had
limited interactions with dogs other than her companion, Honey, whom she loves; shows interest in other
dogs when on walks but no aggression or overtures toward them. She has no experience with cats. Angel has
limited experience with kids but has an easy-going personality and reacts well to people. she is
housebroken and walks well on a leash but likes to be on the move once she knows she’s going outside.
She is easily controlled with firm hold of the leash. Angel rides well in a car, is friendly and open to
meeting new people. She loves attention; is sweet and people-oriented
COMMENTS FROM FOSTER HOME: Angel was adopted by current owners about 5 years ago and is very well cared for, however her owners are an elderly couple who will be unable to provide for her and her companion, Honey, when they move from Atlanta to a Senior Living Center in Raleigh in March. The couple is very heartbroken about having to part with their two sweet girls and would love for Angel and Honey to be adopted by someone in the Raleigh area. They would also appreciate it if Angel and Honey could be adopted together if possible. CONTACT: Leigh Dunham 919-676-7770 (home) 919-247-3923 (cell) ledunham@nc.rr.com

Honey is a 9 year old female Chow-Collie mix who weighs about 65 pounds. She is spayed and up to date with
all vaccinations. Honey stays indoors with occasional walks but would like be more active with running or
walking outdoors. She is less active recently due to caregivers’ limitations but had been used to daily
walks. Honey has very limited interactions with dogs other than her companion, Angel, whom she loves,
however she seems interested but not bothered at all by other dogs when out on walks. She has no
experience with cats and has limited experience with children, but likes attention once she knows you.
Honey is housebroken, is easy to walk on a leash and rides well in a car. Honey is reserved with
unfamiliar people but loving and responsive once she gets to know you. She loves and seeks attention
and is a good watch dog – she barks when someone is outside or comes to the door. Honey loves watching
TV, especially Animal Planet!! Definitely notices when any animals are on the screen and will nudge you
to switch the TV back if you turn to another channel!

![]() | Mason is a male 6 year old neutered Chow
mix who does great with all adults. He is neutered, up to date with vaccinations, is heartworm negative,
and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
Mason is housetrained and leash trained. He's never been crate trained because he never needed it. He knows some basic obedience commands (sit, lay, stay, no). When you talk to him, he tilts his head like he is really listening! He is alittle wary of strangers at first, but once he has a few minutes he is friendly. He mostly lays around but will have spurts of energy when he wants to play tug of war or catch or wrestle with our other dog. He play growls alot when he is wrestling and playing tug of war, but it is harmless. He is not good around children, which is why we need to find a new home. He is nervous around our children since they run around and act kinda crazy. He has growled at them before and shown his teeth, however he has never hurt either of them. He has gotten better and lets my daughter get close to him sometimes and will even let her feed him, however, this is not always the case. Mason is a really loyal companion and will be a fantastic match for an adult/adults. Please contact Melissa Brown, 919-900-0239 or melsu82@yahoo.com

![]() | Belle is a 2 year old, 50 pound
female hound mix who is spayed, house-trained, leash-trained, and has the most wonderful personality in
a dog her foster parents have ever seen. She seems to love everyone and all dogs. She would do well in a multiple dog
home or as the only dog. Her foster home doesn't have children so we don't know much about
how she is with them and since Belle is still getting
used to being an inside dog, a home with older children or one with no children would be would be best
since she isn't used to the loud and very active lifestyle households with younger children have. Her
foster home also doesn't have cats but she gets very excited and curious about those she sees in the
neighborhood so a home without cats would also probably be best. Belle adjusts to new routines very
quickly and is very eager to please her humans. You can tell she has never been given love before and
has learned that love is wonderful! She loves to be petted and to have her belly rubbed. She loves to
go for walks, does well on a leash, and also loves to go for rides in the car. Belle enjoys being
outside but she will jump a 4 foot fence. Belle likes to play with other dogs but also likes to relax on
the floor and is just happy to be near you and comfortable. She is very good about letting
people pick her up, clip her nails, give her a bath, and comb her.
Belle was found wandering along a rural highway on a very cold night thin and dehyradated and in dire need of some tender loving care. Please contact Jennifer at 919-621-9988 if you are interested in meeting Belle. |

Clark is a Lab/Boxer Mix found as a stray and is about 8 months old. He has not been neutered, and it's
unknown as to whether he is up to date with any vaccinations. He is great with other dogs and cats, and
is very good with people of all ages. He is housetrained and already has learned "sit", "down", "come"
and "drop it".
Clark loves to play and will bring toys and drop them in your lap - asking you to throw them for him to retrieve. He is VERY sweet. He loves to nuzzle and snuggle. He is also very athletic and energetic. He loves to be outside and to go for walks. Clark will jump when excited but rarely puts his paws on you. We are working with the "down" command. He likes to chew stuff but is mostly satisfied with his dog toys. We keep him in a crate when not home and he is fine with it. He sometimes will try to put our hands in his mouth, but he is very gentile and is learning that it is never OK. Vet reference required. Small Adoption fee to ensure that he goes to a good home. Elsie is a 2 year old mixed breed female. She is not spayed and is up to date on her Rabies vaccination.
She is not currently on flea/tick or heartworm preventive. She is good with other dogs but better with
males than female dogs and good with cats.
Elsie is fine with kids and better with women than men - but will warm up pretty fast to men. She is house/leash and crate trained. She is an indoor dog but has a lot of energy and enjoys being out doors. She is pretty good with her commands; she can sit, stay, lay down, come, and roll over. She is pretty wary of strangers but once she gets to know them she will love them forever!! She just wants to be loved by everyone! She is really bad about getting on counters if you leave food out - she loves people food! Thanks for looking!! Lily is a 2 year old spayed female Bichon/Lhasa Apso mix. She is up to date with vaccinations, is heartworm
negative and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
Lily loves to play with other dogs but has never been around cats. She will do fine with kids ages 3 years old and older. She is paper trained and crate trained. She loves being outside and taking walks - she walks great on a leash. Lily can sit on command. She loves raw carrots and knows when you get them out of the refrigerator. Lily is paper trained but does leave me occasional "surprises" especially when I work later than usual. I moved out of state with her last fall and am working more hours then previously. She has had difficulty adjusting to me being away more. She does great on days when I am off work and home the majority of the day. Lily would do best in a house full of activity and where someone is home the majority of the day or she has another dog to be with. She has a very sweet disposition and loves attention. Lily also has microchip; she needs motion sickness pills for long periods(I generally travel 9 hours with her) of travel, especially in mountains. How can you resist this happy face? Amos is a six-year-old German Shepherd Dog mix who is looking for a forever home. This happy boy is loving and playful. He is a former resident of the Wake County Animal Shelter, but is now being fostered in Cary. This cute fellow still has lots of energy and love to give a family. He adores playing with his toy ball and Kong, and is a great soccer player! He is also content to just sit quietly by your side and give you kisses. Amos is quiet dog (not a barker!). He is not aggressive, doesn’t resource guard his food or toys and has shown no interest in cats. He seems to like other dogs and is good with kids. He is also crate trained! Amos is sometimes startled by loud noises, such as fireworks or the slamming of the garage door. This handsome dog is a neutered, micro chipped, up to date on his vaccinations and is on flea, tick & heartworm preventative. He is fully grown and weighs in at 59 pounds. Sasha is a friendly dog that came from a shelter in Southern California. She is a Rat Terrier, is about 2-2 ½ years old, and weighs about 12 lbs. She has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on all vaccinations including rabies (have paperwork). She is heartworm negative and is currently on preventative heartworm and flea/tick medication for this area. Sasha is good with some dogs/cats but not all, easily gets along with kids, and is loving towards her owners but will bark and steer away from some men and women strangers. Sasha will not be aggressive or try to bite them. She is house trained but will tug on the leash when taken for walks. She understands "sit" and "lie down" but only when repeatedly told to do so. Sasha likes the outdoors mostly but will stay indoors for periods at a time when near someone. She is sometimes startled by loud noises, such as fireworks or the slamming of doors and loves to run and be chased. She does like, and has caught, grasshoppers and plays with them for awhile before eating them. She can stand on her hind legs for short times and will pull her front leg up sometimes when she is on the prowl for rodents (squirrels in particular). The most challenging issue with her is that she becomes very hyper when left alone for long periods (like going away for half the day). With the proper care and attention to her issue I believe she would make a good pet/companion for someone or a family. Please contact Mark Moralls at 714-658-3495 or email: mmoralls@dslextreme.com |

Barton is a 2 1/2 year old male American Bulldog mix. He’s an absolute sweetheart with people. He's quite a joker and loves making us laugh by dramatically flopping down on the ground and rolling over on his back. He’s very vocal and makes “Chewbacca”-like grunts whenever he wants to tell you he’s hungry, wants to go out, or just wants a little love. He's a people dog and would rather hang out inside with you than be outside on his own. If you let him, he's a wonderful snuggler and nap buddy. Barton is great with our two cats and definitely understands that they rule this household. He is dog- aggressive, though, so he should be in a home where he's the only dog. Due to his size and high energy level, he probably shouldn't be in a home with small children either. Barton is very smart and has gone through obedience training and can heel, sit, down, stay, and come. He really needs a home that can provide him with a ton of mental and physical exercise. He's not the type of dog that will be fine with simply a 5 minute walk around the block — you will need to spend a lot of time walking him and playing with him. He loves going on runs. Barton is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations—he had the 3 year rabies vaccine last year, so he still has two more years left on that. He’s currently taking Heartgard and Frontline Plus for heartworms and flea & tick prevention. He's housetrained and crate trained and even knows to go to his crate when you tell him to "go to bed." As with most Bulldogs, Barton is strong-willed and therefore needs a strong pack leader. He's not appropriate for a first time dog owner. It’s absolutely breaking our hearts to have to give Barton away. He’s been such an amazing companion over the past 2 1/2 years. Unfortunately, despite over a year of training and even “doggie boot camp,” for both dogs, he and our Corgi have not learned to live together peacefully. My wife and I have our first child on the way in November and can’t risk any potential injury to our newborn, even if indirectly, due to a fight between our two dogs. Due to his size and his overall dog aggression, we decided that it would be best for our family to give Barton away. ONLY the following homes will be acceptable for Barton: Basically, we’re looking for someone with a big heart with lots of love and the ability to give a wonderful friend a second chance. Please feel free to contact me for any additional questions or if you would like to schedule a visit. We are located in the Five Points area of Raleigh. Brian Phillips 919.225.4165 briphi@me.com

Moose is a 6 year old male Shepard/Rottweiler mix who was nuetered three years ago but since then has not been to see the vet. He had his last heartworm test there and it was a faint positive. We kept him on heartworm preventative for at least a year before I lost my job and could no longer afford it. Since then, money has been too tight with our family too take care of Moose properly. He is not current on flea preventative, but gets flea and tick killer with his baths and does not seem infested by any means. He is weird around other dogs, but has not had any bad fights. He is fine with cats indoors and is good with kids in general, although he has bowled our son over a few times. He is fine with calm adults. Moose is house-trained and has never really been in a crate. He does not like car-rides, loves walks, but tends to pull till he is worn out no matter what collar we use and training methods. We have worked with him on sit and stay commands. He is a great protector, watch/guard dog, and a great hunter. Please contact Laura Seliga phone: 919-441-6501 email: lpseliga@gmail.com |
