Adoptathon Staffing New Leash
adoptathons are held twice a month at the Raleigh PetSmart. Adoptathons
provide those interested in adopting a dog an opportunity to meet our wonderful
dogs. They also provide us, as volunteers, an opportunity to meet prospective
New Leash adoptive owners, answer their questions, and provide
them with information about our organization and dogs. It also gives us a chance
to carefully screen prospective owners to determine if they can provide a
permanent loving home for a New Leash dog. Adopting a
New Leash animal is a lifelong commitment and is to be taken
very seriously. Therefore, we do everthing possible to find the best match between
a dog and it's adoptive owner.
Fundraising & Publicity Plan
or assist with publicity activities such as staffing fundraisers, putting up
posters, placing ads, and making phone calls or other tasks that help us find
homes for our dogs. Willing hands required, innovative minds a plus. Be a part of
our fundraising team and help plan or assist with either large or small
activities. Experience is not necessary.
Foster Care We believe
that every dog deserves a good home with a loving family. Until we can find each
dog this type of home, all dogs are kept in the loving care of their foster
guardian. Foster guardians open their homes and hearts to the many dogs that need
New Leash's help. They handle a multitude of responsibilities
including: feeding the dog a healthy diet, providing a safe home, vet visit
transportation, medication dispersal, and lots of love to the dogs until they can
be adopted into a loving, permanent home.
Dog Transportation
Provide transportation of dogs to adoptathons, vet appointments or other
locations.
Web Site Assitance Assist our Webmaster with
keeping pictures, articles and links up to date.
Socialization
Counselors Socialization is important in the personality development
of all dogs. It is necessary to help dogs get along well with others; to become a
well behaved member of its future adoptive family; and to be a confident and
psychologically healthy pet. New Leash socialization volunteers
work with our puppies & adult dogs exposing them to different people, places and
things.
